Our Mother Nurturing Birthing Philosophy
We believe that birthing is a natural process that women are exquisitely designed to do. We have great faith in that process, and in the ability of each woman to give birth to her baby in the way she chooses. We provide the professional, caring support that helps women achieve their goal of a happy, healthy birth and a happy, healthy new family.
Throughout the ages, and in every culture, women have instinctively sought the company of other experienced women when the time came to give birth. They have found great comfort in the support and nurturing a doula can provide, helping them to feel confident, empowered, and strong. Birth is a social event, and choosing the right doula to accompany you can help you make your birth special.
I am the mother of seven children, all born without medication or interventions, 5 of which were born at home! I also have a year old grandaughter, and I was blessed to be able to be present at her birth. I believe in the natural birth process and know it works best when the mother is supported and comforted by a woman who knows what she is feeling. I am studying midwifery at M-DCC and will graduate in May 2004. I love helping women during their pregnancies and their births, when they are at the most beautiful and incredible moment in their lives. Every time I am privileged with the honor of assisting a woman in labor, I feel as if I was able to witness a miracle, no matter how many times I see it. I may even cry with you as you meet your baby for the first time! I would consider it an honor and a privilege to serve you during the birth of your baby.

Doula Onidis Lopez
I have always been drawn to helping women and their babies. At the birth of my niece, I realized that I was always a midwife without the education. I am attending M-DCC's midwifery program. If it is God's will, I will graduate in May 2004. I am certified as a labor support doula. I am an artist and I do belly casts from time to time. I love my family!
