For the Dads

Fathers have a very important role to play in the births of their babies. Modern trends are seeing dads play an increasingly active role in assisting the mothers of their children while they labor. A doula does not, indeed, she CANNOT, take the place of the father of the baby. We recognize and honor the emotions and changes the new father goes through; it's his baby being born too! Your doula will be a source of comfort and inspiration to the new dad, by recognizing his needs as well. Whether it be getting you a cool drink, a warm blanket, a soothing shoulder rub, or a much needed break, timely guidance when your just not sure what to do, your doula is there for you as well as the mother. Babies have daddies too, and we want you, the father, to enjoy the birth of your baby and remember it fondly.
